The World Card

The first magical black kitten, Clara, born under The World tarot card, discovers her lady conjurer-to-be, Kyla, not too far away in New Orleans. Kyla's first lesson is to find love so her magic—and her bond with her familiar—can grow strong. But first, she has to get the massive chip off her shoulder.

Kyla is none too friendly when helpful Cajun cowboy Gael buys her coffee. For him, sparks fly when he meets the curvy redhead of his dreams. They fly for Kyla too—at the end of her taser.

Will Kyla fall in love and fulfill her destiny to become a lady conjurer? Or will Clara have to find another lady?

The Star Card

The second magical black kitten, Betty, born under The Star tarot card, discovers her lady conjurer-to-be, Zoey, far away in Marfa, Texas. After a fire destroys her apartment, Zoey hits the road in her VW camper van and keeps running—until a pit stop for pie becomes a much longer stay when her home on wheels breaks down.

Local mechanic Jesse makes staying in Marfa considerably more appealing, even if Zoey has to square off with his conniving ex-girlfriend and face her ultimate fear.

Will Zoey crash and burn, or fall in love and become the lady conjurer she was meant to be?

The Sun Card

The third magical black kitten, Helen, born under The Sun tarot card, finds her lady conjurer-to-be in Ember, a Navy nurse stationed in Pensacola, Florida. When Ember nearly drowns in the Gulf, she is rescued by Caleb—a territorial surfer whose “locals only” attitude ignites her fury despite his heroics.

As Ember works toward leaving the Navy and opening a beachfront T-shirt shop, their hostile encounters reveal an undeniable attraction and a mysterious connection to the Gulf's dangerous waters. With hurricane season approaching, Ember must decide whether this stormy relationship is worth navigating.

Will Helen need to find another lady, or will Ember fall in love with her hero and become the conjurer she was meant to be?

The Lovers Card

The fourth magical black kitten, Rose, born under The Lovers tarot card, has found her lady conjurer-to-be. When culinary school graduate Heather Collins faces financial disaster at her farm-to-table café in Spokane, her last hope lies with Mitchell Farm—and its frustratingly handsome temporary caretaker, Jackson.

Fresh from military service with one foot already out the door, Jackson Mitchell never planned to stay at his grandparents' farm, let alone find himself drawn to a determined café owner with sunshine in her smile. As they reluctantly work together for the season's first farmers market, an unexpected frost threatens everything they've grown—in the fields and in their hearts.

With Heather's café hanging in the balance and Jackson's departure looming, will Rose have to find another conjurer, or can Heather give her grumpy farmer a reason to stay?

The Wheel of Fortune Card

The fifth magical black kitten, Mabel, born under the Wheel of Fortune tarot card, has found her lady conjurer-to-be. Faye has told fortunes her whole life without once believing them. Then her uncle's Dubois Travelling Carnival rolls into Valleyview, Utah, a moonstone collar arrives from New Orleans, and Faye's readings go from carnival performance to alarming reality.

The first reading that turns truly real is the one she does for Brandon Cox—former high school basketball star, current sheep herder, certified skeptic—who pulls the Wheel of Fortune card and laughs it off. He stops laughing when the things she told him start happening.

Will Faye keep turning with the carnival's endless road, or step off the wheel and let it spin without her? And if she leaves town without her love, will Mabel have to find another conjurer-to-be?
